Yamaha srx 7001/9/2024 They simply had to go in an effort by the OEMs to clean up their total corporate average emissions. With a ZRT 6 its all in the daily tuning and set up, and once you dial it in you better hold on.A number of the most popular, most beloved 2-stroke engines in snowmobile history were actually grossly inefficient and EPA dirty. When these sleds are set up correctly you will be shocked ****less as to what these 600s can do, also if its not a 96 it will not have as much power due to the pipe set up, 96s pipes allowed them to have the most power of all the 600 ZRTs, there might be more then just pipes but the 96s were the most powerful 600 ZRT and known to be the fastest, and if your friend has a 99 or newer ZRT then its really a dog especially if it has power valves, If it has many miles on it that will effect it, I have a friend who has a 96 ZRT like mine but with 4,900 miles on it and it is slow compared to mine that has just been rebuilt, he has the same clutch set up as me but never synchronizes the carbs and only has it jetted down one size from stock and I fly by him like he is on a 440 ZL. Like I said the ZRT 6 is one of cats most finicky motors, If they are not tuned perfect they will run like ****, I sync my carbs every week, jet it almost every day and some times twice a day, the carbs need to be adjusted from factory settings to allow them to run to there full potential and the needle jet position plays a big roll in how they run, stock clutching is not the best and really kills them so they need at least a yellow white primary spring to make them run a little better. Either way the F-7 is cat and so is the ZRT so me and my buddies never give eachother crap for being slower.Īs far as the SRX IDK I have never raced one but i hope to some time soon, I dont think the F-7 will have to much of a problem, should be able to take it but IDK those yamahas are not slow either, Let us know what happens. people forget how amazing the triples were and are, I think the HP ratings are lower then what they actually are especially on the 600, my biggest issue is traction, even though I have the 1.25" lug track off of a 02 CCE I still spin like hell. I cant take claim to smoking him but I beat him by about 1/2 sled length in a 1 mile race some times it was closer but neither of the two sleds were slow, then we switched and he rode mine and I rode his and the results were the same. Click to expand.A well set up 96 ZRT 600 can and will take an F-7 stock for stock, not by much but it will take it, The only problem with the ZRT 6 is that they have to be jeted almost hourly and they are one of cats most finiky motors right up there with the 440 ZRs, I think my 600 ZRT is worse then my 98 ZR 440 was and it they are not set up properly they are dogs, but when its tuned perfect it beat my friends 03 F-7 this weekend, his is stock except for a clutch kit, mine is stock motor except for jetting and a different primary spring and weights with a micro shift secondary clutch kit.
